Thomas Cubbitt
At the heart of Pimlico is a grid of residential streets called the Pimlico Grid, which was designed by the famous architect Thomas Cubbitt in the early 19th Century.
Why is it called Pimlico?
The origin of how Pimlico was given its name remains disputed. There are several theories, inlcuding that it's named after a brewer, Ben Pimlico, who was famous for his nut brown ale.
