The Federation of Pimlico Residents' Associations (FREDA) met with representatives of Westminster City Council (the Council) to discuss the Pimlico District Heating Undertaking (PDHU). The PDHU is a heating system supplying hot water and heating to parts of Pimlico including Churchill Gardens, Russell House, Abbots Manor and Lillington & Longmore Gardens. It was originally designed to use waste heat from Battersea Power Station, more recently it was powered by diesel engines
The Council has started work on possible options for new housing in Westminster on six sites that it owns across Westminster and one of these sites is the Queen Mother Sports Centre This is very early work and there is no certainty that any development will happen on this site or any other. The Pimlico Neighbourhood Forum (PNF) Steering Group has been invited to some early discussions along with FREDA. The Pimlico Grid Residents' Associaton is a member of FREDA. Both FREDA
